Symbian is getting open sourced under EPL

Nokia, together with Sony Ericsson, Motorola and NTT DOCOMO has announced that they will form an open source foundation to host the Symbian OS development.  In order to enable the Foundation, Nokia plans to acquire the remaining shares of Symbian, that Nokia does not already own and then contribute the Symbian and S60 software to the new open source foundation. The open source Symbian Software is intended to be released under EPL.
